How Does Posting on Facebook Using a 3rd Party Tools Affect Your Reach and Engagement?
BuzzSumo analyzed 500 Million Facebook Posts and discovered that publishing through 3rd party tools *may* lower engagement and, as such, possibly reach, too.
My opinions: Facebook’s algorithm can detect posts coming in from hyper automated platforms with millions of users all flooding Facebook with posts from their system. Facebok has the technology to track the volume of incoming content from all of these Apps and Tools. When you click on the content it can take you to the 3rd party site which gives them promotion.
Take for example YouTube. Would Facebook rather give away their digital real estate space promoting Google and YouTube, or have you natively upload your videos directly to Facebook?
Would Facebook rather you auto schedule your content through 3rd party scheduling tools or use the scheduler Facebook provides and schedule directly to Facebook?
I have studied the results on both. Definitely post native, original, through Facebook. I have seen a big difference in the number of likes, shares and comments a post receives when not using 3rd party tools.
If you’re trying all you can to drive reach and engagement on Facebook, there’s something we need to tell you: third party tools could seriously hurt your efforts.
In 2015, the amazing folks at BuzzSumo analyzed 500 million Facebook posts and found that posting through third party tools can result in up to 89.5 percent LESS reach and engagement. Ouch!
From Business. com: The best way to avoid limiting your reach is to post natively through your Facebook page itself. Thanks to the scheduling features, you can plan and set everything in advance, much like you would in a third party tool. Additionally, posting natively will better give you the ability to see how your post will look when live.
