As a social media management firm and video marketing producer for real estate agents across the USA, we are focused on creating the most compelling videos for our clients and making sure the videos are getting the best reach, visibility and views on social media channels across the Internet. Video marketing done right takes creativity, time and strategy to create compelling visuals and captivating videos that will have your customers clicking and watching. This is the kind of user behavior that drives your content’s reach and engagement on social media.
The biggest problem businesses face in video marketing that they need to be on camera, have fancy expensive equipment and invest a lot of time into projects. I would agree that 90% of this is true. Even if you purchase one of the thousands of quick video creator website available today, someone still has to have the creative spark, go in and use your brand, get the right clips, add text, save and render the project. Then when they get a file, they must know how to distribute the video file to each social media channel. Believe me, it is different for each one. They also have to know how to upload, tag, and make the videos searchable in all channels.
For example; You Tube. We go in and reset default settings for SEO for every one of our client’s You Tube channels so that the highest SEO settings are in place to get their You Tube videos and channel on page one of Google and getting views, channel subscribers and You Tube ranks. This does take skill, or your video is just sitting on You Tube.
In Facebook there are also settings and specific ways Facebook’s algorithm is set to push the videos into the news feed giving them the highest organic reach and engagement. Facebook bases this on the video being uploaded natively, the size of the video, the time length of the video, the title and type of video and on and on. If these criteria are not met the video just goes out with little or no activity leaving the user to wonder, why their video marketing is not working.
Just like You Tube and Facebook there are specific strategies and rules for each social channel. If a person is not well versed on the strategic elements involved in strategic video marketing, they are not going to see results.
PS: Just a side pitch. We use the latest technology that takes our clients LIVE on Facebook, high quality 1080 HD and 4K videos created monthly (unlimited) industry specific, branded and distributed for just $99 per month.
Here are out 10 best strategic steps for a success strategic video marketing campaign.
- Take your video to your audience. Distribute your videos in the right places. Take your video to where your audience is. You must locate your audience; this can be tricky. You should be in groups and connected to places where potential customers are spending their time on social media. You should know how to make you videos searchable and found by prospects.
It is a waste of time, money and effort creating videos that re never found and enjoyed for the intended audience. - Don’t film randomly and without thought. Not every video needs a script. In fact, I dislike scripted videos, however, all videos do need an outline, thought, point or subject matter. A good practice is to make your 3 or 2 main points on a card and memorize them. If you are not comfortable or experienced in front of the camera, practice in the mirror.
- Have a message or point to the video. Consider staging or setting up a place for the shoot. The more creative the surrounds and imagery in the video the more engaging it will be. Consider a location or set up a background by staging the scene.
- Stay on brand message. If you are a Realtor, you can be super creative and still stay on topic. At the bottom of this article I have a list of topics that are great for videos. If you are in the fashion, product brand industry, you have so much creativity available to you. Just imagine all of the places you can display your brand. Think of the backgrounds and staging you can do to enhance your brand.
- Choose easy video editing software that won’t consume all your time. I use Wave.video. It is super easy and allows for branding through applying a watermark to all videos. There are thousands of free video clips, images and music tracks. I have tried so many, and by far, Wave.video is the easiest and best.
- Before you shoot make sure you check your sound. A set of earbuds or headset is perfect for sound. If you have an external mic, that is good. Try not to create a video without an external microphone. It gives the sound of being in a can or with an echo.
- Check your lighting. For safety always select the great outdoors. Just make sure you are not casting shadows and make sure you are not shooting directly into the sun. If you are inside, make sure there is enough lighting in the room. If needed, add lights. Put two lights in front of you at a 45-degree angle, and another one off to the side pointing to the background to avoid shadows.
- Don’t forget to get creative and add props, signs, products and photos. Props can add extra visual appeal to the video.
- To get extra creative you can use special effects. You can turn on a fan to give the visual of wind or hair blowing, you can add background music (make sure audio is not copyrighted) videos can be removed for sound that is copyright material.
- Distribute across all channels. Make sure to optimize your You Tube channel and set presets. Make sure to use titles, subtitles and all information to get the video found.
